May 3rd 2025 'Handstand (Orroral Valley)' - please see image below - has been selected as a finalist for the Lethbridge Landscape Competition and will be on show at the Lethbridge Gallery, Brisbane from 9th May to 25th May. Private View on 10th May 6pm to 8pm.





























April 19th 2025 This morning received the fantastic news that my portrait 'Mother and Daughter' is a finalist in the Figurativas 25 competition in Barcelona.
Means a huge amount to me not least because it is judged by outstanding painters (amongst their number one of my heroes, Antonio Lopez Garcia) but because finalists' works will be displayed in the European Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona, a city that I was fortunate enough to live in during the early 2000s. I was so bowled over to be part of the show that I didn't realise that my other entry - a landscape ('Foundation Traces') - had also been accepted as a finalist. 
Anyway, both paintings (please see images below) will be on show at The European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) in Barcelona from 3rd October 2025 to January 2026.













































February 7th 2025 Visited Brisbane for the first time to attend the opening of the 'Artists to Watch' show at the Lethbridge Gallery in which I was exhibiting 6 paintings. Had a good natter with guests and other exhibiting artists and enjoyed seeing their other work. Unfortunately I trod on the foot of the Governor of Queensland in the melee at the bar. She was really sweet about it. If grace under pressure is a valid metric for choosing a state leader she'd certainly get my vote.

October 4th 2024 The opening night for my solo show 'Foundation Traces' went as well as I could have hoped. That is to say some loyal pals showed up, some curious folk with a peripheral interest in my work too and even some out of towners. Enjoyed talking to everyone and was grateful for their attendance (please note that image below does not reflect attendance on night). The show is on till 27th October.



































September 26th 2024 Last night I attended the National Contemporary Art Award ceremony at the Aarwun Gallery in Canberra. Was thrilled that my entry 'Oracle' received a 'Highly Commended' award there. We had a really pleasant evening nattering with other attendees and mooching around near my painting to see if anyone was rude about it. I managed to  limit myself to 2 glasses of wine. That should be another 'Highly Commended' right there.







































September 16th 2024 I'm having a solo show in Gallery 2 of M16 Artspace @m16artspace from 3rd to 27th October, where I'll be exhibiting all my recent paintings of the remains of the Space Tracking Centre in the Orroral Valley, ACT. The private view (drinks etc.) is from 6pm to 8pm on 3rd October. If you are in town please come along.

































5th August 2024 Really pleased to say that my painting 'City Limits' has been selected as a finalist for the John Leslie Landscape Award and will be on show at The Gippsland Art Gallery, VIC from 9th September - 24th November.


June 28th 2024 'Remains of the Control Room at The Space Tracking Station, Orroral Valley' won the Doyles Landscape Award last night. I was in attendance to receive the award up on the Gold Coast and to blather interminably about my thinking behind the painting.. The hosts, guests and dignitaries indulged this with fortitude. Thank yous all round!
